Easter Blend ('Red Honey', Costa Rica)

This Coffee of the Spring Season is so good we decided not to blend anything with it! So our Easter 'Blend' comes direct from the Don Eli micromill in Tarrazu, Costa Rica and it is a beaut. We've only managed to grab a couple of sacks of this Red Honey Natural, so grab it while you can, its Easter in a cup!

Descending from the highest points in the country, the pine trees lining the steep slopes in the Tarrazu region are slowly replaced by coffee plantations. Carlos Montero has been producing fantastic coffees from his own farms here for many years and was one of the pioneers of the small independent 'micro mill'. 

Hand-harvested from trees at high altitudes on the farm located at 1700-2000 masl, this is one of the highest farms in Costa Rica and benefits from fantastic soil and a stable climate. This is a deliciously rich coffee, with notes of chocolate mousse, cherry and necatarine. Pair with milk for a smooth, velvety cocoa nib feel to the cup!

What is 'Red Honey' process? 80-90% of the mucilage remains on the beans. The beans are dried on raised beds in shaded conditions. When drying they are raked on the first morning and then only once or twice in the afternoon
